As an architect, I’m trying to create a different kind of travel blog. This isn’t a guide to the best-known landmarks. It’s a record of the built environment’s secret life. And all images here are mine.

The Structural Narrative

To most, a crumbling masonry wall is a ruin. To me, it’s a high-stakes drama of gravity, tectonic shifts, and time. You won’t find “Top 10” lists here. Instead, you’ll find architectural photo journaling, visual stories told through the joints of a building, the patina of a forgotten facade, or the way light hits a specific vaulted ceiling in the Bronx. If a wall is about to tumble to the ground, I want to capture the beauty of its descent.

The Filter of Excellence

Life is too short for mediocre spaces or lackluster reviews. My philosophy on hospitality is simple: if it isn’t exceptional, it isn’t here. * No Negative Reviews: I won’t waste your time (or mine) on the “fine” or the “failing.”

The Glowing Exception: When a hotel or restaurant appears on these pages, it’s because it moved me. I only curate the extraordinary.

Brewing & Distilling

While I avoid reviews, I make a deliberate exception for the alchemy of the still and the mash tun. I’ve traveled the globe to investigate how geography dictates flavor. Whether it’s a rugged Islay scotch or a hyper-local craft brew, I approach spirits with the same rigor I apply to a plan: analyzing the structure, the balance, and the local variations that make them unique.

The Anchor: Hudson Valley

My retreat from the world—and my current obsession—is the Hudson Valley. Amidst its incredible bounty and historic weight, I find a constant source of inspiration. While my curiosity ranges globally, my focus often returns to the tectonic beauty of this extraordinary landscape.

Why follow along?

Because the best stories aren’t found in the lobby; they are found in the craftsmanship of the walls and the soul of the spirits within them.
